The diesel-electric trains now complete the 23.3-kilometre route in twenty-five minutes, stopping at Bloor and Weston before terminating at Union Station beneath the Financial District.
The service operates on a dedicated rail corridor carved from the Georgetown rail line, sharing track with GO Transit commuter trains during off-peak hours. Each train accommodates 173 seated passengers across three carriages fitted with luggage racks, power outlets, and Wi-Fi routers hardwired to trackside fiber. Departures occur every fifteen minutes during daytime hours, tapering to thirty-minute intervals after 22:00. The line carried 2.7 million passengers in 2025, a recovery to pre-2020 volumes that prompted Metrolinx to add rolling stock and extend late-night frequency.
Private transfer services emerged as a parallel option for groups and families unwilling to navigate Union Station with oversized baggage. Sedan and SUV operators now monitor flight arrivals through live feeds, adjusting pickup windows to account for customs delays at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The twenty-eight-kilometre drive to downtown hotels follows the Gardiner Expressway when traffic permits, though construction detours along Lake Shore Boulevard have extended travel times to forty minutes during weekday afternoons.
Pearson remains the only Canadian airport with sub-thirty-minute rail service to a central business district. The blue-and-white trains depart from a dedicated terminal beneath the Link Train bridge, accessible via pedestrian tunnels from both international arrival halls. Fare gates accept contactless payment cards, eliminating the need for ticket vending machines.
